This month the mindyourmind team travelled to Oakville, Ontario for our most recent Design Lab. We met with an amazing group of 16 high school students that were brought together by the Halton Catholic District School Board. We spent three days with them talking about mental health, discussing what issues they were facing and creating three zines to help address some of these issues.
The mindyourmind team is polishing up the zines to make them available in digital and print format. We look forward to the launch event where the students are planning to disseminate the zines to their peers. A special thank you to our partners from the Halton Catholic District school board, Anne Marie and Tim who were present throughout the Design Lab and were great supports. We really appreciated their participation and involvement!.
We are also wrapping up our Yellowknife Design Lab, where we have created some exciting designs for wearable art. Stay tuned to see what those look like! All the youth participants from this Design Lab will receive their own wearable art as well.
Next month we will be wrapping up the youthexperts project entirely and celebrating the 14 Design Labs we were able to conduct through this program.
Check back next month for more updates and follow along at youthexperts.ca!
